Known Accessibility Issues
While we work continuously to improve accessibility, the following known issues remain:
- Interactive maps — The Leaflet-based maps (Black Sea Map, Monitoring Stations) have limited keyboard navigation and screen-reader support. We provide text-based alternatives alongside map views.
- Network graph (D3) — The force-directed network visualization is not fully accessible via keyboard. A tabular fallback is planned.
- Third-party chart libraries — Some Recharts SVG charts may not fully convey data to assistive technologies. Summary text is provided where possible.
- PDF documents — Some uploaded PDF documents in the Document Library may not be fully tagged for screen-reader navigation.

Enforcement Procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility complaint, you may escalate the matter to the relevant national enforcement body. Under EU Directive 2016/2102 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, each EU Member State has designated an enforcement body responsible for ensuring compliance.
As the AQUA-SMART project involves multiple Black Sea Basin countries, the applicable enforcement body depends on your country of residence. You can find the relevant authority for your country on the EU Web Accessibility Directive page.
Measures Taken

- Cookie consent banner accessible via keyboard with Escape key dismissal.
